How to Create a Meal

Summary

Adding a new meal to your menu is a very straightforward process using the KitchenFuel backend. Here’s a quick guide to show you how to add a meal.

Navigating to the Page

  1. Log into your KitchenFuel Admin account.
  2. From the home menu, click on the “Menu Info” box.
    • You could also navigate to the Menu Info page by clicking on the drop-down menu in the top left corner, then clicking on Meal Manager, and then Meal Info.
  3. Once you’re on the Meal Info page, click on the “New Meal” button.

Creating the Meal

  1. A pop-up should appear with multiple fields you can fill.
  2. First, fill in the name of the meal you want to create as it will appear on your menu.
  3. Next, type in the list of ingredients your meal will contain.
    • The ingredients should be how they’d be displayed in a nutrition label with commas separating and no measurements. Suggest using the following format:
      • Example: Chicken, rice, broccoli.
  4. Use the dropdowns to select any applicable allergens your meal might contain.

Creating Variations of the Base Meal

  1. Create a name of the variation (i.e. Small/Large or Regular/Extra Protein).
  2. Input the variation price.
    • If applicable, you can also input the cost of goods field to understand profitability.
  3. In the variation ingredients section, this will generate your macros and shopping lists so be specific!
    • Enter your recipe with measurements and click Calculate Macros and they will populate in the cells below.
    • Note: This macro data can be overridden if you don’t want to use the auto-calculated details.

  4. Repeat additional times for each variation of the base meal desired.
  5. Click Save.
